Synesthetic Art
My art is a visual representation of how my brain works to interpret its own special version of the world. Ive always been intrigued by the colors that dance around in my head and their innate connection to feelings, senses, emotions and memories.
Possessing the neurological phenomena of synesthesia (the crossing of the senses), I have always had the ability to visualize the five senses in abstract shape, color and form. During my years attending the University of Southern Maine I focused extensively on capturing sound through preferred mediums of oil paint and mixed media; rendering the sounds of nature, songs composed by favorite musical artists and even the etherial voices of beloved friends and family.
